Author Guidelines

General Rules: Authors of original submissions must present an accurate account of the research performed, as well as an objective analysis of its significance. Underlying data must be accurately presented in the text. A document should contain enough detail and references to allow others to replicate the research. Fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Originality and plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their works are completely original and, if the authors used the research, words or expressions of other authors, these must have been properly cited and referenced. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.

Multiple, redundant, or competing publications: An author should generally not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal that requires originality. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously, or publishing the same research in different journals, constitutes unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.

Identification of bibliographic sources: Proper acknowledgment of third-party research should always be done. Authors must cite the publications that influenced the determination of the nature of the reported work. Information obtained privately, such as through informal conversations, correspondence or discussions with third parties, must not be used or reported without explicit, written permission from the source. Information obtained in the course of confidential activities, such as submissions for evaluation or funding projects, must not be used without the explicit written authorization of the author of the work involved in these activities.

Authorship: Authorship must be attributed to those who contributed significantly to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the reported study. All those who made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Persons who participated in substantive aspects of the research project should also be recognized or listed as contributors or collaborators. The lead author must ensure that only suitable co-authors are included in the article, and that all co-authors have read and approved the final version of the document and agreed to its submission to Revista Bindi.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors must disclose in their manuscripts any financial or other conflict of interest that could lead to influencing results or interpretations in their submissions. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.

Peer review: Authors must be available to cooperate, responding to requests from the Editorial Team on the steps of the editorial process, responding point by point and in a timely manner to comments/suggestions/corrections of peer review, returning the material to the Journal Bindi within the established time frame. In addition, authors must respond promptly to clarifications and approval of language and layout revision steps, copyright releases, etc.

Fundamental Errors in Published Articles: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his own published article, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify Bindi Journal editors or the institution and cooperate with the editors to retract or correct the article.

DUTIES OF THE PUBLISHING ENTITY

Management of publication unethical behavior: In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication or plagiarism, the publishing institution, i.e. Instituto Norberto Bobbio, in close collaboration with the Editorial Team, will take all appropriate measures to clarify the situation. This includes the immediate publication of an errata, clarification or, in the most serious case, retraction of the affected work. The publishing institution, together with the Editorial Team, will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of material with research misconduct and, in no event, will encourage such conduct or knowingly allow such conduct to occur.

Access to the journal's content: Bind Magazine offers immediate and free access to its content, following the principle that the free availability of scientific knowledge provides greater democratization of knowledge. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without seeking prior permission from the publisher or author, as long as they respect the Creative Commons Attribution license 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) used by the journal. Authors may republish materials elsewhere, provided the Editorial Team is informed, and only from the date

Formal communication of the case to the competent authorities for the investigation

INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY POLICY

Revista Bindi (RB) encourages the use of inclusive language in the writing of scientific articles, in order to encourage inclusion and diversity. It is believed that language and science are socialization agents that can reproduce or try to contribute to overcoming structural inequalities in society.

Published content must not state or allude that one person is superior to another because of age, gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, culture, religion, sexual orientation, disability or health condition. It is even an imposition of the Brazilian Constitution of 1988 in its republican and equality principles.
Care must be taken to avoid the reproduction of stereotypes and partial views of reality, influenced by structural inequalities in society. Avoid terms with negative connotations.
The adoption of gender-inclusive terminology is suggested, preferring the use of neutral terms (e.g. the court, instead of the judge; the technical defense, instead of the lawyer; the accused person, instead of the accused) or of both grammatical genders (ex. the lawyer; the lawyer and the lawyer).
a) The use of both grammatical genders must be weighed against the objectivity and intelligibility of the text, since the excessive use of such an option may eventually impair its accuracy.
b) It is also possible to suppress the grammatical gender, when identification is unnecessary (eg experts say, instead of “the” experts say); or use collective terms (eg, faculty rather than faculty; scientific community rather than scientists).
Avoid qualifying subjects, except when strictly necessary (eg renowned teacher, respected indoctrinator, etc.). The qualification of subjects by age, gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, culture, religion, sexual orientation, disability or health condition should be avoided, unless this qualification is indispensable for the understanding and development of the research.
Standardize the reference style to authors and authors. If you choose a name and a last name, adopt them equally in all cases.

It is recommended to consult the Inclusive Language Manual of the Brazilian Senate; FRANCO, Paki Venegas; CERVERA, Julia Perez. Manual for the non-sexist use of language and the LGBTI+ Communication Manual.

In English, see: Elsevier Guidelines and UN Handbook.

In Spanish, see: UN Manual and Guidelines of the Universidad de Valencia.

In empirical research, attention is recommended to the guidelines of the 'Sex and Gender Equity in Research - SAGER - guidelines'.
